On the face, as of late:
For everyone who's been asking me what lippy i've been using or why my skin looks super healthy & ALIVE! Here's a complete list of everything i've been using on my face recently.
Firstly, i've finally learnt the importance of a good skincare routine. It makes a world of difference if your makeup routine consists of good skincare products, and i've seen this firsthand after finally taking care of my skin with both Allies Of Skin's All Day Mask and also Shiseido's Micro Targeting Spot Corrector. After months of using a bad one, I finally found a concealer (and skin tint which makes my face look as smooth as a baby's butt) in a shade that blends in with my skin perfectly. On a side note, i'm also completely obsessed with Nude lippies but sometimes the colours i pick always seem to wash my skin out and in turn, make me look pale and sickly BUT i finally found a perfect shade and it is Colourpop's Tulle. On my skintone, it's a lovely shade of beige + pink that i like to mix with Colourpop's Beeper here and there. However, i have realised that if you're of a fairer skintone, it becomes darker on the lips, so i'd suggest using Beeper instead.
And because i'm tired of seeing makeup routines ONLY catered to lighter skin, i hope to make a conscious effort to share my skincare and makeup routines with everyone to represent girls, #unfairandlovely, like me. Being darker than everyone else around me is a challenge sometimes, especially when it comes to picking tone-sensitive products like foundations and concealers. I know how all of y'all feel. I know the pain of hearing salesgirls go, "oh, we don't carry darker shades" and how some of us (myself included) resort to picking out lighter shades to cover up dark circles or spots. But i am glad that some brands (Shoutout to NARS) see the need to cater for every girl here in Singapore, from porcelain skin to shades of caramel and milk chocolate. Hope to see more and more brands following suit!
